The INNOVATIVE STEPS project is focused on developing a cross-curricular (interdisciplinary) education programme on sustainable development, as well as on equipping teachers with knowledge and skills on how to teach sustainability education in class.
The action aims at:
• promoting education for sustainable development (ESD) at school level as one of the most effective solutions to environmental and climate change challenges
• improvement the lower secondary students’ key competences, such as personal, social, learning to learn, citizenship, ability to reflect upon oneself, effectively manage information, remain resilient, ability to cope with uncertainty and complexity, support one’s physical and emotional well-being, etc.
• enhancement the lower secondary teachers’ competences to teach ESD as part of the curriculum and by applying cross curricular approach
The project involves development of innovative cross-curricular ESD programme for students, which will be freely available via an online platform and ESD continuous training course for teachers.
The project is being implemented in Bulgaria, Czechia and Slovakia.
